Welcome to the website for La Séjannerie, our home from home in rural Normandy, which is available to rent as a gite for several months of the year. This year (2024) we are open from June 1st, so that we can welcome visitors planning on participating in the 80th D-Day celebrations! We are only 80km (about 1:15 mins drive) from Arromanches, which is the main focus of the landings area

La Séjannerie

The house was built in the late 1940’s after the original farmhouse was destroyed (as was most of Gathemo) during the liberation of France at the end of WW2. Set in 0.5Ha (about an acre) of mature garden down a long lane that serves just a few properties, it offers very comfortable, tranquil and secluded accommodation for up to 8 people. There’s a large kitchen / dining room and lounge, together with a spacious shower room and toilet. Upstairs there are 2 double bedrooms (one superking and one king sized bed) , one bedroom with twin beds and a double sofabed in a dedicated space on the landing, together with the family bathroom. The kitchen is comprehensively equipped, with dual fuel cooker, fridge freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher and a coffee maker of course! There’s also a washing machine and tumble dryer in the downstairs bathroom.

La Séjannerie is fully equipped and full cleaning is included in the rental charge, as is bedding, towels and electricity. We provide basics like toilet paper and cleaning products and you’ll find a bottle of wine and water to welcome you to the house. Unusually for Normandy, the house has its own heated swimming pool for your exclusive use. It also has ultrafast (1GB/s) fibre optic broadband which is available without charge as is Netflix and iPlayer on the large screen TV

The house is located close to the centre of Lower Normandy and is ideally placed for a visit to the beautiful part of the world, no matter what you want to do.

Driving distances from the channel ports are:

Caen (Ouistreham) – 90km
Cherbourg – 130km
Le Havre – 170km
Boulogne – 390km
Calais – 415km
Dunkirk – 460km

On this website you’ll find a tour of the house and garden, and a selection of the many attractions that the area has to offer, for adults, kids and the whole family. We’ve been coming to Normandy for more than 20 years and we’ve still not managed to do them all!

We hope you’ll want to come and visit and we look forward to seeing you soon!
